Nicolas Thomkins
Nicolas Thomkins (born 1953 in Ascona, Switzerland; based in Germany) studied fine arts and sculpture at the Düsseldorf Art Academy and industrial design at Folkwang Design School. In 1983 he opened his first office in Maidenhead, England. Since 2014 he has served as HIGOLD's Chief Designer.
Design philosophy
Nature- and well-being-led design; 360° sensory experience with obsessive attention to material and ergonomics; East-meets-West synthesis.
